Bonding Cement Paint
for Stucco
Renovators can now spruce up older stucco to extend its life and boost the
colour.
Fog Coat, from Imasco Minerals, is a bonding cement paint that's applied over
cement stucco, concrete or masonry surfaces. Formulated with Portland cement,
hydrated lime and mineral colour pigments, Fog Coat comes in 25-pound bags
that will cover about 900 square feet of wall space when mixed with four gallons
of water and the colour packages.
The resulting blend is applied using a compressed air sprayer, though some
contractors use hand pumps or a modified paint sprayers on small jobs. Two
coats are recommended and the results can be dramatic.

Forbo Flooring has launched a new product: Marmoleum click. An evolution from
the original Marmoleum, a natural product made primarily from linseed oil,
wood flour and pine resins, Marmoleum click is available in easy-to-install
"clicking" panels and squares. No glue is required so the floor
can be walked on immediately after installation.
Available in 18 colours, Marmoleum click panels (approximately 12" x
36") can be used alone or combined with the 12" x 12" tiles
to create a variety of designs.
Lab tests indicate that Marmoleum is anti-static and anti-bacterial, making
it a good choice for people with asthmatic allergies and other respiratory
problems.

Shower System
KD53 is Mirolin's newest sectional three-piece tub shower, designed to make
shipping and installation easy. The company's patented and unique overlap
joint system has been improved with the introduction of the Snap-Fit system,
which eliminates ugly seams and surface caulking/silicon.
The KD53 is available as a Tub Only, Whirlpool, Jet Air® or a Combination

New Shower Designs
The design team at MAAX wanted to inspire their customers' everyday lives
"with a shower experience that's similar to thalassotherapy." As
a result, MAAX has unveiled the Urban 6036 S and SA showers. Designed with
a minimalist look in mind, these showers include standard and optional features
such as an acrylic base and wall in White or Biscuit, roof cap, frameless
tempered glass shower enclosure, integrated shelf, and chrome or brushed nickel
hardware.
The S shower also features the MAAX IES 3/4 with Rainmax system: a 3/4-inch,
four-function thermostatic valve, eight adjustable body jets and the Rainmax

Floor Underlayment
MP Global Products introduces QuietWalk™, an underlayment for floating
wood and laminate floors designed to draw sound in and deaden it. QiuetWalk™
received a Field Impact Insulation Class rating of 60, surpassing the typical
requirement for sound barriers between floors in multiple housing construction.
QuietWalk™ also provides moisture protection-the voids between its fibres
can absorb over five times its own weight in water, without swelling or deterioration,
while the attached vapour barrier keeps harmful moisture away from the floor.
MP Global uses a high-temperature manufacturing process to kill any potential
bacteria and fungus in their fibres, as well as an antimicrobial additive
to retard mould growth.

PlanFX has developed PFX, a database software application using Palm hardware
to collect floor plan measurements that are quickly and easily converted to
CAD drawings or PNG image files anywhere in the world via the Internet. This
application allows multiple users access to a central server where they can
upload and convert their database files to multi-layered CAD drawings. The
files can be viewed in any Web browser without the need for costly CAD programs.
Using many built-in functions, operators can create simple base architectural
plans or more elaborate drawings. With 79 built-in symbols, 11 wall layers
and 52 CAD layers, there are many options to choose from.

Inline Fan and Quantum
Ventilation System
New from Nutech Brands
are the Inline fan and the Quantum Ventilation System. The Inline fans are
remotely mounted into the attic or basement and are ideal for retrofits or
new construction. These systems remove odours, moisture, stale and unhealthy
air and are less expensive than regular exhaust fans.
The QVS concept uses an inline fan located in the mechanical room. Exhaust
ports in various rooms are ducted to the same fan. When the system is turned
on, a timer starts and shuts the system off when ventilation is complete.
The QVS system can be upgraded to a heat recoveryventilator or energy recovery
ventilator.
