Granite opens virtual reality show homes
November 17, 2017
Guelph-based Granite Homes aims to reinvent the way homebuyers experience pre-construction purchasing by offering a virtual reality experience of the model home, before the building process is complete.
Traditionally, home builders use floor plans or a model home to show potential buyers what they can expect once their home is built. But Granite believes virtual show homes could also provide an early indication.
The builder has partnered with LandMark VR Technology to bring an interactive model home experience to its new Doon West project in Kitchener.
As part of the sales launch, virtual reality goggles allowed users to physically explore the model home in a virtual world, interacting with the features and finishes as “they fully immerse themselves in the model home experience,” explained sales and marketing manager Sandra Aveiro.
“Granite Homes aims to be at the forefront of technology when it comes to home tours,” Aveiro said. “Our Sales Centre offers visitors a complete virtual experience of our model home, delivering an unmatched purchasing experience for our prospective buyers.”
While Doon West is the launch site for Granite Homes’ new virtual reality experience, the builder plans to use the custom software in its future communities.
