Vancouver seeks builder for 900 homes
August 4, 2017

The City of Vancouver has released a Request for Proposals to build nearly 900 homes in the city under its Vancouver Affordable Housing Agency (VAHA).
The “affordable rental housing” is to be built on seven city-owned sites that together are worth about $79 million, according to the city. VAHA will lease the land to partners who will build, fund and operate the rental projects.
“The door is open to any and all qualifying organizations and big ideas on how to develop these seven city-owned sites to create the most affordable rental units. We look forward to hearing from the industry and working together to reach our goals,” said Luke Harrison, CEO of VAHA.
The exact number of units that will be delivered on each site is subject to development approval through the rezoning and development permit process.
Final confirmation of development partners and estimated projected timelines for completion of the seven sites will be announced in the first half of 2018.
