Enercare Acquires Service Experts in Multi-Million Dollar Deal

TORONTO — Enercare, one of Canada’s largest home and commercial services companies, has announced an agreement to acquire Service Experts, a leading provider of HVAC services to residential and light commercial customers in Canada and the United States. The sale price is US$340.75m.
This transaction is significant. Service Experts is a company with 2,800 employees in 93 cities across the United States and Canada and the transaction transforms Toronto-based Enercare from a Canadian leader into a North American leader in a highly fragmented market.
This deal builds also on the company’s experience of successfully integrating acquired companies. Since 2006, Enercare has integrated 11 acquisitions, including the company’s $550 million purchase of Direct Energy’s Ontario home and small commercial services business in 2014.
