BC Gets Ready for HST

BRITISH COLUMBIA - On July 1, 2010, the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) will be eliminated. A 7% B.C. rate will be added to the 5% Goods and Services Tax (GST) forming a combined HST of 12%, the lowest in Canada. The HST approach is far simpler, more transparent and fair than the PST system.
Frequently asked questions can be found at: http://hst.blog.gov.bc.ca/2010/03/27/faqs/.
Information on the New Housing Rebate can be found at http://hst.blog.gov.bc.ca/faqs/new-housing-rebate/

The HST will be administered by the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). Please direct technical HST inquiries to the CRA at 1-800-959-5525 (business inquiries).
